KID ROCK Sings At Sister's Wedding, Exchanges Words With Heckler

June 20, 2005

Launch Radio Networks reports: Kid Rock did a stint as a wedding singer over the weekend — for his older sister. He got up with the wedding band at his house outside Detroit and performed LYNYRD SKYNYRD's "Sweet Home Alabama", BOB SEGER's "Night Moves", and some country songs during the reception for Carol Ritchie and his production manager, Eric "Shakes" Gryzbowski, on Saturday (June 18th). Kid Rock also served as Gryzbowski's best man. Carol Ritchie helps her brother — whose real name is Bob Ritchie — to run his Top Dog Records company.

Kid Rock also made some local news in Detroit for a confrontation at the fourth game of the NBA Finals on Thursday (June 16th). Rock, who has courtside season tickets to the Detroit Pistons, was being heckled throughout the game by a fan of the Pistons' Finals opponent, the San Antonio Spurs. In the fourth quarter, after he was shown on the arena video screen, Kid Rock walked down to the man's seat and the two exchanged words before security guards separated them. Kid Rock was slated to sing "America The Beautiful" at last night's (Sunday, June 19) NBA Finals Game Five.
