KID ROCK To Perform Before PISTONS/SPURS Game

June 17, 2005

Detroit native and devoted Pistons fan KID ROCK will perform "America the Beautiful" at the Palace of Auburn Hills prior to Game 5 of The Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, June 19. ABC will televise his performance in the U.S. and to more than 205 countries. Coverage will begin at 8:30 p.m. (ET).

The series is tied at 2-2.

Kid Rock became a household name when his 1998 album "Devil Without a Cause" produced such hits as "Bawitdaba", "Cowboy" and "Only God Knows Why". His albums have sold over 20 million copies in the U.S., including his most recent platinum album, "Kid Rock", which spawned his most successful tour to date — selling more than 1,000,000 concert tickets. Rock also continues to support troops overseas and at home with USO visits and performances.
