KILLSWITCH ENGAGE: New Album On Track To Sell 50K-55K First Week

July 2, 2009

According to Hits Daily Double, the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS, the new, self-titled album from Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE is on track to sell between 50,000 and 55,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's last CD, "As Daylight Dies", opened with just under 60,000 units to debut at position No. 32 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was the follow up to 2004's Grammy-nominated album "The End of Heartache", which was certified gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of 500,000 copies.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's self-titled fourth album was released on June 30 via Roadrunner Records. The CD was produced by Brendan O'Brien (AC/DC, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE) and co-produced by guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will team up with IN FLAMES for a co-headlining tour of Canada in Sepember. Support on the trek will come from PROTEST THE HERO and BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will spend the summer touring as a main-stage attraction on the second annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
