The AC/DC frontman and lyricist was born at Kirriemuir but moved to Australia with his family when he was six.
Since 2006, Kirriemuir has hosted a music festival as a tribute to the musician, who died in 1980 at the age of 33.
The event was started in 2006 by local community group DD8 Music to coincide with the unveiling of a commemorative stone to Scott in the town centre.
The festival has been held every May Day weekend since and has attracted hundreds of rock fans from across the country.
DD8 Music chairman Steven Gibbons said this year's festival had been expanded to include more live music during the day, as well as the evening concert by headliners the AC/DC tribute band HIGH VOL-TAGE.
