KISS Announces Massive 50th-Anniversary Super-Deluxe Edition Of 'Rock And Roll Over'

KISS will release a super-deluxe edition of "Rock And Roll Over", the band's fifth studio album, on November 6.

"Rock And Roll Over"'s 50th anniversary is celebrated with a comprehensive super deluxe edition box set showcasing a 4CD and Blu-ray Audio experience, including 130 total tracks with 100 tracks and mixes previously unreleased.

The original 1976 album mix is newly remastered from the original stereo analog tapes on CD 1 by Bernie Grundman, who mastered all audio. CD 2 offers up a brand-new album stereo mix by the original producer Eddie Kramer giving the album a more modern rock sound utilizing Kramer's 50 years of engineering prowess since first delivering the album. 22 unreleased demos, outtakes and alternate mixes have been unearthed on CD 3, including nine Gene Simmons demos, the Davlen Sound Studios demos, extended mixes and the unfinished instrumental track "Queen For A Day".

At the very end of the "Rock And Roll Over" tour, in April 1977, KISS performed in Japan for the very first-time ever, and CD 4 stages selections from all four nights at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo newly mixed from the original analog multi-track tapes by Eddie Kramer who recorded the shows nearly 50 years ago.

The Blu-ray Audio disc offers up a new Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround mix for the original 1976 album mix by David Frangioni along with a Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround mix for the new 2026 album mix by Eddie Kramer. The Blu-ray disc additionally rocks with high resolution 192kHz and 96kHz 24-bit of the newly remastered original 1976 album stereo mix and the 96kHz 24-bit brand-new 2026 album stereo mix by Kramer.

KISS hasn't issued a full-length disc of new music since 2012's "Monster", which sold 56,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous LP, "Sonic Boom", opened with 108,000 units back in October 2009 to enter the chart at No. 2. It was KISS's highest-charting LP ever.

Two years after the completion of their five-year, 250-date "End Of The Road" farewell tour with two shows at New York City's Madison Square Garden, KISS returned to the stage at their "KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas" event, which was held in November 2025 at the Virgin Hotels resort and casino complex in Las Vegas. After an hourlong acoustic performance on November 14, 2025, the band played an 85-minute set — their first "unmasked" electric concert on land in 30 years — the following night, where they were joined by former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick on two songs ("Lick It Up" and "Rock And Roll All Nite").

The 2026 edition of "KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas" will be held November 13-15 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. This time, the event will introduce an expanded and immersive KISSperience featuring artist panels and Q&As, a look-alike contest, KISS karaoke, "Ask Doc" sessions with longtime KISS manager Doc McGhee, artist meet-and-greets and late-night DJs. The event will also include interactive exhibits, a merch store and a "Future Of KISS" panel.

"KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas" will feature two unmasked shows with the band, in addition to a powerhouse lineup of special guests and performers, including an Ace Frehley all-star tribute after the original KISS guitarist died at age 74 on October 16, 2025, weeks after suffering a fall at his home.
