KISS: Vintage Concert Footage Posted Online

September 5, 2007

KissKollector.com reports: "Recently, footage from several KISS concerts from the band's heyday have surfaced online. Most of it comes from 1977 shows, while one video is from the 1980 German leg of the 'Unmasked Tour'. Apart from it being very cool pro-shot footage, it’s pretty remarkable that the interview segment — very much unlike what's common use in Germany — is not dubbed in the German language but has been subtitled (although about half of what Paul Stanley says is not subtitled). The 1977 footage includes four minutes from the McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorada from November 17, 1977 (which has the audio from the December 6, 1977 concert in Wichita, Kansas since the video footage came from a silent 8mm film),a short clip of the band performing 'Black Diamond' at the L.A. Forum (most probably the August 26 show — just like the August 27 and August 28 shows this one was taped for the 'Alive II' album) and KISS doing 'Black Diamond' at the Capital Centre on December 20 in Landover, Maryland (a.k.a. Largo, MD) where they also performed on December 19. There's also footage from the Largo '77 show where the crowd yells 'Happy birthday, Peter!' because of Peter Criss' birthday, before the band goes into 'Rock And Roll All Nite'."
