KITTIE: Asbury Park Show Cancelled
January 30, 2007Canadian metal band KITTIE has issued the following update:
"We regret to inform all of you hoping to attend the [February 11] Asbury Park, New Jersey show at the Fastlane that the show has been cancelled. We were advised by the promoter to cancel the show after an increase in gang violence and a recent drive-by shooting in the area. We apologize for the inconvienence but our safety as well as your own is in all of our best interests! We'd hope that any of you wanting to attend that show would head to B.B. King's in [New York City] on February 12th, or The Crocodile Rock on Valentine's Day!"
KITTIE recently uploaded three new tracks — "Summer Dies", "Witch Hunt" and "This Too Shall Pass" — to its MySpace page. All three cuts come off the group's new album, "Funeral for Yesterday", due on February 20 via KITTIE's record label, X of Infamy. A trailer for the DVD that will be available as a companion disc with "Funeral for Yesterday" has been posted online at YouTube.com.
KITTIE's new CD was recorded at Retromedia Studio in Red Bank, New Jersey with producer Jack Ponti, who has previously worked with BON JOVI, SKID ROW, and ALICE COOPER. Other songtitles set to appear on the new album include "Never Again", "The Change", "Breathe", "Last Goodbye", and "Slow Motion". The band recently finished mixing the effort with producer Kevin Shirley (IRON MAIDEN, DREAM THEATER).
