KITTIE: Entire New Album Available For Streaming

"I've Failed You", the sixth album from the veteran all-girl Canadian metal outfit KITTIE, is available for streaming in its entirety at Exclaim.ca. Due on August 30 via eOne Music, the CD was recorded at Beach Road Studios in Goderich, Ontario, Canada. The band once again worked with producer Siegfried "Siggy" Meier, who helmed KITTIE's last CD, 2009's "In The Black".

Guitarist/vocalist Morgan Lander previously stated about KITTIE's new material, "We have been working exceptionally hard these cold winter months, crafting what is to be our six full-length release, and our second for eOne. In some cases these new songs are faster, darker and much more sinister than our previous release. It contains some of the most difficult and personal subject matter I have had the pleasure (or displeasure) of writing."

Added Meier: "The girls have written some incredible and personal songs this time around. They're heavy as shit and relentless. It's a pleasure and an honor to be doing another record with one of the best metal bands of our time."

Regarding the "Empires (Part 2)" video, which can be seen below, Morgan Lander said, "'Empires (Part 2)' is about the fall of something that at one time was considered great and indestructible. It likens a union, or relationship to the idea of a great empire, and as history has taught us, even the most mighty and powerful of empires crumble and fall eventually. Nothing is forever."

On the topic of the song's relationship to the album's "Empires (Part 1)" , Morgan said, "Well, musically, 'Empires (Part 1)' and '(Part 2)' are based around the same guitar chords and structure, and '(Part 1)' is more like a soft, acoustic introduction to the fury of the second part, much like a time of peace before unrest."
