KITTIE To Take Part In Online Chat

August 7, 2007

KITTIE vocalist Morgan Lander, drummer Mercedes Lander and guitarist Tara McLeod will take part in an online chat via the KittieRocks.commessage board on Wednesday, August 8 starting at 8:30 p.m. EST. You must register to take part in the chat.

KITTIE recently announced that bassist Trish Doan will not perform on the band's upcoming "Sweet Revenge" tour with IT DIES TODAY, SILENT CIVILIAN, BRING ME THE HORIZON and BLESSED BY A BROKEN HEART. Standing in for her will be Jeff Phillips from THINE EYES BLEED.

Commented Doan in a statement: "Due to pressing personal health matters, I must sadly inform you that I will be taking a hiatus from touring with KITTIE commencing immediately. With the complete and ongoing support from the band and management it is clear, as unfortunate it is, that these matters be addressed promptly.

"I want to thank everyone for the tremendous support over these past two years. It has been nothing but an amazing experience so far and this decision has been made to do what is best for everyone."

A video of KITTIE performing the song "What I Always Wanted" at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, New York during the Canadian band's recent tour with 36 CRAZYFISTS, WALLS OF JERICHO, DEAD TO FALL and IN THIS MOMENT has been posted online at the Underground Video Televisionweb site.

An MP3 of KITTIE performing the song "Funeral for Yesterday" acoustically on WAMX in Huntington, WV on April 27, 2007 has been made available for download at this location (MP3, 4 MB).

KITTIE's video for the track "Funeral for Yesterday" has been posted online at YouTube. The clip was shot on February 5 on Long Island, New York. "Besides it being probably one of the coldest days [we] can remember in years and the location not really having heat at all, it was a lot of fun," the band previously wrote on its MySpace page. "The location was perfect for the mood of the song and [we] think you all will enjoy the video."

KITTIE's new album, "Funeral for Yesterday" — which was released via the band's own record label, X of Infamy — was recorded at Retromedia Studio in Red Bank, New Jersey with producer Jack Ponti, who has previously worked with BON JOVI, SKID ROW, and ALICE COOPER. The band mixed the effort with producer Kevin Shirley (IRON MAIDEN, DREAM THEATER).
