KOLDBORN Seek New Label Home

July 8, 2005

KOLDBORN guitarist Henrik Jacobsen recently spoke to Denmark's Antenna webzine about the group's current activities and label situation.

On the current band activities:

Henrik: "We're entering the Smart n' Hard studio once again sometime in August to record our second full-length album and after that we're going to play some concerts. We have been offered a few jobs and a couple of tours, but we're not quite sure if we want to take them. We are a small band and we're just having a good time and drinking some beers, but we're ready, and in the autumn we're going to play in Denmark and hopefully also a bit abroad. All we need now is to record the album and then get out and play some shows. We finally have a stable line-up and this is something we have been waiting for seven fucking years for to happen, so this is fucking great."

On the label situation:

Henrik: "We're still looking. We recorded a promo about a year ago which we mailed to a few labels, but we're still looking because we don't have a label at the moment. We're really looking for a label because we need someone to finance the album, but as it is now we record and finance everything ourselves. This way we also end up with a product we're 100% in charge of. So it's totally up to us with regard to music, mix, layout and everything so it might be for the best this way. It's just us, who have to get the money up from our pockets, but I can live with that and this way we have a final product which we can send to the labels and hopefully get a deal and I'm sure we will, because the music is awesome."

KOLDBORN's latest EP, "Devil of All Deals", was recorded and mixed by Bredahl at Borsing Recordings and is the band's first CD to feature new members Bjørn Bihlet (guitar) and Lars Bjørn-Hansen (vocals).

The group, who split with longtime frontman Martin Leth in early 2003, issued their debut album, "First Enslavement", in October 2002 through Diehard Music.
