KONKHRA To Re-Record New Album Tracks

May 3, 2007

Guitarist/vocalist Anders Lundemark of the Danish extreme metallers KONKHRA revealed yesterday that the band has encountered technical difficulties in completing its long-awaited new album. According to Anders, "the harddrive with our new record on is fucked. Apparently the backup disk has rewritten every file under MS-DOS which means that the backup cannot be read from ProTools HD-3 which is how we will finish the record. Rough mixes of this record was supposed to commence tomorrow but now we are waiting for news from a disk recovery company and it's killing us to wait. They say between 300$ and 4000$ will be the final tally for preserving the data from the compromised disk. It seems like it's been obstacle upon obstacle but hopefully someday we can actually finish this record."

Earlier today, Lundemark issued the following update:

"OK, we don't want to dish out six grand and not be 100% sure that all files can be regenerated. If one hi-hat is missing in a song it will a tremendous waste of resources. We would have to sit and wait for 10-12 days without knowing if everything will be there. The record consists of over 5000 files so the gamble is too big.

"So what?

"We will start re-recording everything from the beginning on Monday, and as a friend put it: just look at the last seven months of work as a good lenghty pre-production. Plus we get to record everything on the SSL instead of the Neotek, and we get to record with ProTools HD-3 and the new Lynx converters which should sound four times as good. So in the end, we will probably get a better sounding record anyway. It is still the goal to get the States to record leads with James [Murphy; ex-TESTAMENT, DEATH, OBITUARY] between 17th of May and 3rd of June. That means we have nine days to do the whole deal: plenty of time. So let's set a new deadline: new music on [the band's official MySpace page] before 1. of August.

KONKHRA's new CD will will be mixed by Tue Madsen.

A new KONKHRA instrumental demo track, which has the working title "Killswitch One", has been posted online at the band's MySpace page.

KONKHRA released its latest CD, "Reality Check", in May 2003 through Code666 Records. The album was recorded at guitarist/vocalist Anders Lundemark's own Starstruck Studio and was the group's first since their split with longtime label Diehard Records.
