KORN Frontman Says New Material Is 'Definitely New And Different For Us'

Launch Radio Networks reports: KORN is working on the follow-up to its 2005 album, "See You On The Other Side". The band has already written 18 songs and will continue to come up with more before deciding which ones will make the final cut. Singer Jonathan Davis told Launch that the group has no intention of just repeating itself on the new CD. "You know, we want to step it up another level and try and do some more different stuff," he said. "We don't wanna do 'See You On The Other Side' part two. We're just taking our time and getting in there and doing some different kind of stuff, and I'm excited. I can't wait. I just started singing yesterday on the first song and it's really melodic, but it's still heavy, and it's definitely new and different for us."

Meanwhile, AlbumVote.co.uk reported this week that KORN will release its first-ever acoustic album in early 2007. The live, "MTV Unplugged"-style disc will reportedly come out on February 19 in the U.K. However, the existence of this project has yet to be confirmed and Jonathan Davis himself made no mention of it to Launch.

Davis did recently say that he is planning to go on his first solo acoustic tour in February, which might have been confused with an album release.

Davis also told Launch that despite online reports, he has not officially agreed to play the title role in a new independent horror film called "Job". He is in talks to star in the movie, but has not signed on yet. If he does, it will be the singer's second major role in a horror film, following the yet-to-be-released "Sin-Jin Smyth".

Live tracks from KORN will appear on the "2006 Family Values" CD and DVD due out at the end of next month.
