KORN Guitarist Discusses Making Of 'Remember Who You Are' In New Video Interview
July 15, 2010On July 11, KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer was interviewed by ACtv at the Mountain View, California stop of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. Watch the chat below.
KORN performed for 80 minutes inside a crop circle during a special North American broadcast this past Sunday (July 11),with the concert now streaming on MySpace and other web sites. Singer Jonathan Davis told The Pulse of Radio that the event was inspired by PINK FLOYD's legendary "Live At Pompeii" gig and should eventually surface on DVD. "We're huge fans of PINK FLOYD's 'Live At Pompeii' and we always wanted to do something like that our whole career, and that's exactly what we did. It's really dark and eerie and kind of like 'Apocalypse Now'. We had a big helicopter buzzing us, filming while we were playing, and it was definitely a one-of-a-kind KORN show. It was very special, and we'll get the footage and re-edit it and hopefully put that out."
The crop circle was created by a U.K. company called CircleMakers and was set in a wheat field near KORN's hometown of Bakersfield, California.
The strange configuration showed up in a series of viral videos that KORN posted online over the last few weeks.
The concert marked the arrival of KORN's ninth album, "Korn III: Remember Who You Are", which came out on Tuesday (July 13).
The band is currently co-headlining the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival with ROB ZOMBIE. Other acts on the 26-date Mayhem run include FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, LAMB OF GOD, ATREYU, IN THIS MOMENT and more.
