KORN Guitarist: FAMILY VALUES Tour Was 'Incredible'

September 25, 2007

KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer has issued the following update:

"I finally had some time to relax after the Family Values Tour. However, since the tour, I've been constantly working on stuff for Emotional Syphon [Munky's record label], and we have so many cool surprises in the works! Thank you so much for all of the support, because this has been an amazing first year for us, and it's only going to get better!

"The last show of the Family Values tour was simply fucking awesome! Irvine was packed with friends and family, and it was one of the best dates of the whole tour. Every song, from the old cuts like 'Dead Bodies Everywhere' and 'Good God' to the new stuff like 'Starting Over' and 'Ever Be', set the crowd off! During our cover of 'Another Brick in the Wall', I got the chance to play a solo. I was up there with spotlight on me, and I just got to go for it. Looking up at the crowd in the packed amphitheatre with everyone's eyes on the stage remains one of the most exhilarating things ever! Putting our own spin on that song is always a blast, but that solo's really special for me, and I'm just stoked that we get the chance to play that FLOYD classic live. That show was so good that after 'Blind' I lit my guitar on fire!

"Anyway, we've got a lot going on with Emotional Syphon right now. MONSTER IN THE MACHINE is about to launch their first ever U.S. tour! I guarantee these shows are going to be awesome for Shannon and the guys, so be sure to check them out!

"Also, this past Saturday, KORN kicked off the 'Bitch We Got A Problem Tour' in Reno. Once again, we've got our boys in DROID on the entire tour! So if you missed us at Family Values, do not miss this tour! DROID is getting tighter, meaner and kicking more ass with each and every show! I'm so excited to watch them destroy the crowds every night! Get there early and head to the pit once they hit stage.

"I've got to say this summer was great! Family Values was incredible! It was so much fun signing with the DROID guys at the ESR booth and kicking it with all of you! Come out to the 'Bitch We Got a Problem' shows and be sure to say hi! Also don't miss MONSTER IN THE MACHINE's tour!"
