KORN Guitarist Says New Album Takes Listeners On 'Journey'

November 23, 2005

Launch Radio Networks reports: When asked, the members of KORN say that the band's new CD, "See You on the Other Side", is a concept album. But guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told Launch that the "concept" behind the record was to stretch KORN's sound as far as possible. "Definitely," he said. "It's taking KORN into another dimension for the listener, I think, that takes you to another world. I think it's really emotional, as far as it's not so anger-based. You know, I think it's a more well-rounded emotional journey it kinda takes you on, the listener."

"See You on the Other Side" arrives on December 6. It is KORN's first album as a four-piece, following the departure of guitarist Brian "Head" Welch earlier this year.

KORN announced last week that it will fly 40 winners of an MTV Europe contest from London, England to the U.S. to attend the band's November 29 show in New York City, with the group also performing for the winners on the plane during the seven-hour trip. In addition, KORN revealed yesterday (Tuesday, November 22) that it will also take eight U.S. soldiers on the plane to New York as well. The soldiers have all served in either Afghanistan or Iraq and are currently on leave in Frankfurt, Germany and Venice, Italy. The group is also playing a handful of radio festival and club dates in December to promote the release of the new disc.
