KORN Guitarist Talks About Touring
August 4, 2010TheScore.com conducted an interview with KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer at this year's edition of the Heavy MTL festival, which was held July 24-25, 2010 at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. You can now watch the chat below.
KORN's new album, "Korn III - Remember Who You Are", sold 63,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart.
The band's last, untitled CD opened with 123,000 units back in August 2007 to land at No. 2. That number was slightly more than half of the 221,000 first-week tally achieved by its predecessor, "See You On The Other Side", which debuted at No. 3 back in December 2005.
"Korn III - Remember Who You Are" is the band's first effort for brand new label home, Roadrunner Records.
KORN is not only busy promoting its new album, but the members have also been outspoken about the Gulf oil spill while on tour this summer. Singer Jonathan Davis and the band are boycotting all BP products, and have encouraged other acts to follow suit, including GODSMACK, ROB ZOMBIE, LADY GAGA, RISE AGAINST, BACKSTREET BOYS, MEGADETH, CREED, FILTER and HELLYEAH.
