KORN Interviewed By Austria's MULATSCHAG TV (Video)
June 22, 2011Austria's Mulatschag TV conducted an interview with KORN bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu and drummer Ray Luzier at this year's edition of the Nova Rock festival, which was held June 11-13, 2011 on the Pannonia Fields in Burgenland, the easternmost federal state of Austria (near Nickelsdorf and the Hungarian and Slovak borders). You can now watch the chat below.
According to The Pulse Of Radio, KORN has decided to cancel the release of an EP it was due to release on June 14 and expand the project into a full album. The EP was an experimental recording on which the band was collaborating with a number of dub step producers/DJ, including Kill The Noise, Excision, Skrillex and 12th Planet.
There's no word on when the new KORN album, which will be the band's tenth, will arrive. It will follow up 2010's "Korn III - Remember Who You Are".
Fieldy told NME.com about the new project, "We've collaborated with six or seven producers on the new record. I've done my parts and I think Jonathan [Davis, vocals] has a couple of vocal takes still to do, but it's almost done. It's important to stay current and keep on top of what's going on."
Luzier told Download that he thought the move toward dub step meant he might be replaced by a drum machine. He explained, "Normally it would drive me crazy because I think drum machines are soulless. But [Davis] said, 'No, we're going to experiment with triggers,' which I've never done before. So we actually triggered the sounds Skrillex made with my kit I'm actually playing them live. I was excited by that."
