KORN To Descend On New York City With Special Pre-Album Release Show
November 11, 2005KORN will descend on New York City Tuesday, November 29 for a very special pre-album release show at Hammerstein Ballroom, where they last tore off the roof back in 2002.
This show marks the first U.S. concert where the trend-setting modern rock pioneers will perform material in the U.S. from their upcoming album "See You on the Other Side", due out December 6. Tickets for the show go on sale Saturday, November 12.
Meanwhile, look for the band to make their first-ever performance in a U.S. television studio November 19 on "Saturday Night Live", performing their blazing single "Twisted Transistor". The track was the most added at active, mainstream and alternative radio across the country, and is now Top 10 at Active and Mainstream Rock, as well as the #2 most-requested song at KROQ/L.A. It's taken from their seventh studio album in a catalog that has already produced 25 million in sales. "See You on the Other Side" represents KORN's first release via a unique global partnership with EMI/Virgin Records. This innovative multiple rights joint venture deal is among the first of its kind in the music industry.
For the "Twisted Transistor" clip, KORN creatively teamed with director Dave Meyers and made good on their promise to shake up the music video format with the seven-and-a-half-minute visual extravaganza. KORN decided to call upon their friends to become, well, the members of KORN for this mini-movie. Imagine this: hip-hop titans Lil Jon as Jonathan Davis, Snoop Dogg as James "Munky" Shaffer, Xzibit as Fieldy and David Banner as David Silveria. And they did their homework, studying the stage moves and idiosyncrasies of the four members of KORN to create spot-on portrayals that give fans an inside look at the four distinct personalities that make up the band.
