KORN To Take Part In 'Virtual' Meet-And-Greet Tonight

January 13, 2011

StageIt, a new, web-based platform that empowers artists to stream and monetize interactive live experiences directly from their laptop, has announced that Grammy-winning, American hard rock legends KORN will offer a 20-minute virtual meet-and-greet to a select number of fans on January 13 at 9:45 p.m. CST (postponed from 7:00 p.m.),live from Bloomington, Illinois.

This intimate meet-and-greet will provide fans from around the globe with an incredible behind-the-scenes look at KORN as the band gears up for their highly anticipated Monster Energy "Music As A Weapon V" tour — which they are co-headlining with DISTURBED — as well as an exclusive opportunity to interact in real time with the band members via StageIt's Live Chat feature.

"This virtual meet-and-greet will give our fans an interactive backstage opportunity to hang with us and get an exclusive look at the Monster Energy 'Music As A Weapon V' tour," said KORN lead singer Jonathan Davis. "The fact that we're running it all from a laptop makes it easier for us to pull off and more intimate of an experience for the fans."

For more than 16 years, KORN have established themselves as one of the biggest bands in the history of hard rock and metal, selling over 30 million albums worldwide. Their latest studio album, "Korn III: Remember Who You Are", was released by Roadrunner Records in July 2010 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

"KORN is an iconic band that continues to have a major impact on hard rock," said Evan Lowenstein, founder and CEO of StageIt. "We are truly thrilled and honored that they have chosen StageIt to host their first-ever virtual meet-and-greet."

By leveraging the hyper-connectivity of the Internet, StageIt enables musicians to connect more intimately with their fans on multiple platforms and brings back the excitement of an unduplicated live experience. The KORN meet-and-greet, like all StageIt experiences, will not be archived.

A limited number of tickets at $3 (30 Notes — StageIt's currency) for the KORN virtual meet-and-greet are now available at www.stageit.com.
