KREATOR To Embark On North American Tour

August 8, 2002

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

German Metal Pioneers KREATOR Embark on North American Hell Comes To Your Town Tour

Celebrating 17 years of performing potent yet influential heavy metal music, Germany's KREATOR is geared to devastate North American venues to support its most recent endeavor Violent Revolution, released through SPV Music.

KREATOR possesses an extensive history, pioneering various sub-sects of the heavy metal genre, including thrash and other extreme forms of music. The band has always been in a constant state of reinvention be it through experimenting with high-octane aggression, lush melody & technical prowess, or even emotional gothic ingredients. Their music is brutal and direct, their attitude remains totally authentic in 2002 - after all, the band originates from the predominantly working class environment of Germany's coal mine-centric Ruhr Area. At the same time, KREATOR isn't a purely German phenomenon, it is a prime Teutonic export article with an impressive track record: over one million albums sold worldwide, tours throughout Europe, South America, Japan, and North America (seven times!).

Although the band has not touched American soil since 1996, band mastermind (vocalist/guitarist) Mille Petrozza feels the time is right to re-ignite the continent, supporting KREATOR's most free-spirited & uncompromising release to date, Violent Revolution. Mille is visibly excited to return to the States: "It's going to be killer! The last tour was way back in '96 and so we're really happy to be coming back. We've been playing all over the world on the new album (Korea, Japan, and Europe) so it'll be great to get back to one of our favorite places to play. It took a while for us to get the pieces to fall into place for the US tour, but performing all over has gotten us really warmed up for these dates. I think that fans will see us at our best. We've been away for too long."

As to what the uninitiated North American concert-goers can expect from KREATOR's 2002 live set, Mille provides a bit of insight: "Real intensity hard riffs. We play lots of old songs, as well as some new ones - and we play a long set. It's not easy to do every night, but we give the fans what they want, and that makes it worth it for us. The shows absolutely rip!

KREATOR embarks on the Hell Comes To Your Town tour through September & October with fellow Germans DESTRUCTION and up-and-coming metal perpetrators CEPHALIC CARNAGE and DECEMBER.
