KULT OV AZAZEL's XAPHAN Shoots Down Split Rumors

October 26, 2006

Xaphan, vocalist/guitarist of the Floridian black metallers KULT OV AZAZEL, has issued the following update:

"After our show Tuesday night [Oct. 24] with CELTIC FROST and GOATWHORE it is evident that some things need to be cleared up. It seems the going rumor is the band has split up or that we are no longer active. This is not the case at all. We are very much active and continue to work on material for the next album. Scheduling conflicts lead the band to push the recording back. This same reason was also behind having to cancel/reschedule any pending dates that we had been in discussions with promoters about. Our show on Tuesday night was our last show for the year 2006, not the last show of our career. So let it be known as long as my filthy carcass continues to live and breathe this band will be in full force as it has the past 7 ½ years since our conception. The day I no longer exist will be the day KULT OV AZAZEL will cease to exist!

"On having the opportunity to be local support to CELTIC FROST, even if for one night this was childhood dreams come true. It was also an honor to learn Martin Eric Ain was pleased to have us on the bill. I have fond memories of sitting in my bedroom in 1984 listening to my HELLHAMMER album with 'Triumph of Death' being one the first songs I ever learned to play by ear. It's no secret and well detailed that I have cited in numerous interviews HELLHAMMER and CELTIC FROST as huge inspirations so I would personally like to thank M.E.A. for his conversation and support. It was truly a special night both for us and the fans that came out in support of the show. I and the rest of KULT OV AZAZEL would like to extend our gratitude to CELTIC FROST for allowing us to partake in their monumental return!"
