L.A. GUNS Enter Studio To Record 'Covers' CD

January 20, 2004

Long-running hard rockers L.A. GUNS entered the studio on January 12 with producer Andy Johns to begin recording a new collection of covers from the '70s. A spring release is expected.

In other news, L.A. GUNS will be doing a show at the Key Club in Hollywood on March 2 with BEAUTIFUL CREATURES opening. "There will be a video shoot for the first two songs performed, and then they will play a regular length show after that," according to a post on the band's web site. "One song will go with the new cover CD and one song will be off the 'Waking The Dead' CD. The tix will be either very inexpensive or maybe even free depending on the venue. Either way it won't cost much to get in."

Meanwhile, sometime L.A. GUNS guitarist Keri Kelli has issued a press release "to reiterate that he will NOT be touring with L.A. GUNS on their forthcoming European tour. While in Italy with ADLER'S APPETITE recently, Keri discovered that many people (fans, club owners and promoters) were under the impression that he was still playing with L.A. GUNS. Neither Keri or Brent [Muscat] will be playing with L.A. GUNS. Despite the fact that Keri and Brent are still listed as being 'current members' on the official L.A. GUNS website, this is not true and L.A. GUNS now have a new guitar player. If you're going to an L.A. GUNS show, please do NOT expect to see Keri there — he won't be."

L.A. GUNS are scheduled to kick off a European tour with BLACK N' BLUE in early February.
