Label: DIMMU BORGIR Recruit Session Drummer ASGEIR MICKELSON

March 25, 2004

As first reported here on March 18 (and subsequently denied by the band's management),Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR appear to have in fact recruited Asgeir Mickelson (BORKNAGAR, SPIRAL ARCHITECT) as the session drummer for their upcoming live appearances, according to a posting (since removed) on the web site of their record label, Nuclear Blast Records.

[UPDATE: A representative for DIMMU BORGIR's management has informed BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the announcement posted on Nuclear Blast's web site is "wrong." The spokesperson stands by his previous statement that "Asgeir will not play any tours with DIMMU BORGIR. The band is auditioning different drummers but nobody is confirmed at [this time]."]

DIMMU BORGIR are scheduled to play a few live shows in South America in late April, to be followed by several European festival appearances and a much-anticipated main-stage slot at this year's Ozzfest.
