January 14, 2009

LACUNA COIL and CHIMAIRA have been confirmed for DISTURBED's Music As A Weapon IV tour, which is expected to kick off sometime in March. The billing for the trek is as follows:

DISTURBED
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
LACUNA COIL
CHIMAIRA

A poster for the tour can be found below.

In addition to the main-stage acts, there will be a tattoo and music festival as well. Some of the world's best tattoo artists will be traveling with the tour, including Oliver Peck and Hart & Huntington. They will be joined by some of the top local tattoo artists in each market. Everyone attending the show will have the opportunity to schedule an appointment in advance with the tattoo artist of their choice and get some new ink at the shows. Tattooing will happen as local ordinances allow. There will also be an extreme sports exhibition including freestyle and half pipe from top action sports stars, a second stage with additional bands performing, a vendor village and much more.

The tour's official web site, www.musicasaweapon4.com, will launch on January 27.

DISTURBED will be the featured musical guests on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on the Wednesday, January 28 episode (which will actually air the morning of January 29 beginning at 12:05 a.m.).

DISTURBED scored its second No. 1 single on the BDS/Billboard Active Rock chart last year with the title track from its current album, the nearly platinum "Indestructible".

The CD's lead-off single, "Inside the Fire", set a record for the longest-running No. 1 in the history of the Active Rock chart when it spent 16 weeks in the top slot. DISTURBED is also riding high with its first-ever Grammy Award nomination in the "Best Hard Rock Performance" category for "Inside the Fire".

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE is currently working on its as-yet untitled fourth album for Roadrunner Records. The CD will follow 2006's "As Daylight Dies", which is approaching gold status in the United States (signifying 500,000 copies shipped).

For the first time in its career, the band is working with an outside producer — Brendan O'Brien, who has previously helmed recordings for AC/DC, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, PEARL JAM and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, to name a few. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, a noted producer in his own right who has recorded all of the band's previous albums, is taking a co-producer role on this record alongside O'Brien.
