LAMB OF GOD's BLYTHE, MORTON Interviewed On Latest Episode Of 'Headbanger's Kitchen'
July 26, 2012Heavy metal cooking show "Headbanger's Kitchen", hosted by the DEMONIC RESURRECTION frontman Sahil Makhija (a.k.a. Demonstealer),has released its tenth episode featuring Randy Blythe and Mark Morton of Richmond, Virginia metallers LAMB OF GOD. During the program, Demonstealer whips up a "Black Label Chicken Curry" (named after a LAMB OF GOD song).
Blythe and Morton were interviewed before their May 26 concert at Bangalore, India's Clarks Exotica. They talked about their tour, the great experience they had in India the first time; their latest album, "Resolution"; their opinion on haters, food and other fun stuff.
When asked if they ever go online and are affected by criticism that is posted about them on the Internet, Blythe said, "I try not to. That's one thing that's different about the quote-unquote underground music scene today — that there is the Internet and there are a bunch of little talking heads all with an opinion. When we came up in the underground music scene, there was no Internet, there was no, say, Blabbermouth or any of these other, basically, gossip sites. I mean, they report some news, but some of the stuff is ridiculous. So it was a much more, it seems, a supported community. There's always gossip, but now [it's] on, like, a global level, and it seems like there's people who, it's their whole mission to be a jerk online, to get a kick out being a jerk. That, to me, is pathetic. That has nothing to do with the spirit of an underground community. That's the outside world coming in."
"I think when you put yourself that we're in… or you allow yourself to be put in this position that we're in, rather, you have to have a disconnect," Morton said. "If I get online and read some kid say, 'Fuck Mark Morton. Fuck LAMB OF GOD,' if I take that personally, I'm an idiot. Because that person doesn't me. They know me as a member of this band and they know me from a video they saw on YouTube or that interview they saw on whatever bullshit site or whatever. But that's not me. You don't know me, dude. So if you're saying 'Fuck that.' Maybe you're legit, that you don't like my band — great, that's cool. But if I take that personally, that's my problem, 'cause I can't take that personally. They don't know me any more than I know them, so why should I take that personally? That's just somebody sounding off about some band they don't like. Who cares? It doesn't matter."
"It was a real pleasure to interview Randy and Mark," said Demonstealer. "They were both so down to earth and despite suffering from severe jetlag, they were kind enough to do the interview. Of course, the icing on the cake was the fact that they enjoyed the food!"
