Richmond, Virginia metal act LAMB OF GOD has issued an official press release further refuting reports that it has committed to this summer's The Family Values Tour.
The official Virgin Recordse-card for KORN's upcoming "MTV Unplugged" album listed the purported lineup for this year's The Family Values Tour as headliners KORN alongside EVANESCENCE, LAMB OF GOD, and AIDEN. However, LAMB OF GOD insists that it has not yet signed on the dotted line for the mammoth summer package. The group's official statement reads as follows:
"Due to the high volume of messages, comments and forum posts we have received in the last few hours in regards to LAMB OF GOD's upcoming rumored spot on this summer's Family Values Tour, the band would like to let their fans know that they have NOT committed to this tour.
"Regardless of certain websites reputation for typically leaking accurate information and an incorrect list of information on the KORN e-card, NOTHING has been confirmed from LAMB OF GOD's end. If and when the band does finalize summer tour plans, you can rest assure that you will find out their accurate agenda either on the band's official MySpace, on www.lamb-of-god.com or www.lambofgod.tv. These websites are the only officially sanctioned websites the band uses to distribute information and until you see it on the aforementioned sites, please disregard any other information you may have come across."
LAMB OF GOD was nominated in the the "Best Metal Performance" category at the 49th annual Grammy Awards, which were held February 11 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
LAMB OF GOD's latest album, "Sacrament", has sold 191,000 copies in the United States since its August 21, 2006 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD was produced by Machine (CLUTCH, KING CRIMSON, PITCHSHIFTER, EIGHTEEN VISIONS, EVERY TIME I DIE).
LAMB OF GOD has just kicked off a headlining American tour with modern-day metal traditionalists TRIVIUM, Bay Area metal titans MACHINE HEAD and France's heaviest metal export GOJIRA.
