Lawyers In GREAT WHITE Nightclub Fire Civil Case Want To Preserve Foam
October 8, 2005The Associated Press is reporting that lawyers in The Station nightclub fire civil case are asking a judge to preserve some of the flammable foam recovered from the scene of the 2003 GREAT WHITE concert blaze.
They want to conduct their own tests on the foam and hope to identify which company manufactured the material at the West Warwick, Rhode Island nightclub.
The lawyers appeared Friday morning (October 7) before Superior Court Judge Francis Darigan. Darigan is presiding over the criminal case against club owners Jeffrey and Michael Derderian and former GREAT WHITE tour manager Daniel Biechele.
Prosecutors in the criminal case asked for 48 square feet of foam to perform what's known as a "Steiner Tunnel Test."
The fire left 100 dead, including more than 30 from Massachusetts.
