LED ZEPPELIN To Play New York's Madison Square Garden?

December 12, 2007

According to NME.com, LED ZEPPELIN is rumored to be planning a three-night at New York's Madison Square Garden sometime in 2008.

The Sun reports that the bandmembers were overheard discussing the prospect after their performance at the O2 Arena in London on Monday (December 10).

A source quoted in the newspaper explains, "One of the guys [in the band] started talking about their three concerts at the Garden. There was a consensus of, 'Why not?'"

Net profits from LED ZEPPELIN's December 10 concert will go to the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, which provides scholarships for gifted children. Late Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun helped jump start the careers of various acts ranging from Ray Charles to Aretha Franklin.

Despite rumors, LED ZEPPELIN hasn't officially announced any additional shows. Guitarist Jimmy Page recently told Reuters, "Let's just do the O2 and we'll see what happens from there. I haven't got a crystal ball here and nor have you."
