Legendary BLACK SABBATH/WHITESNAKE Bassist Working With THE FLUFFY JACKETS
June 15, 2007Legendary BLACK SABBATH/WHITESNAKE bassist Neil Murray is currently working with THE FLUFFY JACKETS to record their first demo, to be released independently in July.
Neil Murray initially shot to fame in the late 1970s and 1980s as founding member of the successful band WHITESNAKE where he contributed to hits such as "Here I Go Again", "Fool For Your Loving" and "Still Of The Night". Since that time he has been working with a number of highly successful recording artists, including BLACK SABBATH, Ozzy Osbourne, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, Gary Moore, Brian May, QUEEN and the SCORPIONS, to mention a few.
Formed in 2006, THE FLUFFY JACKETS is a London-based hard rock outfit consisting of a lead guitarist and vocalist and hard hitting drummer. In search of a permanent bassist, the band offered the recording job Neil Murray via the MySpace.com web site, and the bass-playing legend accepted.
Neil Murray comments: "Even though I've played on dozens of albums and toured extensively all over the world, I still enjoy laying down the bass lines and playing the blues, so playing with THE FLUFFY JACKETS on their first recording was an offer I couldn't refuse. They are great musicians and they play the blues-rock which I like, so what more could you wish for?"
On their webpage, a FLUFFY JACKETS spokesperson comments: "We are honored to play with Neil Murray; indeed, who can fail to be impressed by his melodic bass lines on classic WHITESNAKE tunes such as 'Love Hunter' and 'Black An' Blue'?? In terms of playing the bass, this guy is a natural born talent."
THE FLUFFY JACKETS and Neil Murray are working on completing the recording in June for a scheduled July 2007 release. The release will be mixed by Teo Miller (BLUR, HAPPY MONDAYS) and some songs will be made available for download at the FLUFFY JACKETSMySpace page.
Today, Neil Murray is part of the very successful musical "We Will Rock You" in the West End of London, celebrating the music of QUEEN. Neil also continues to tour and record with M3 ("classic WHITESNAKE"),which includes ex-WHITESNAKE guitarists Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody.
