LENG TCH'E Parts Ways With Singer, Announces Replacement

May 14, 2008

Belgian razorgrind warriors LENG TCH'E have issued the following update:

"Today is another step in the never ending evolution of LENG TCH'E. Boris [Cornelissen, vocals] has decided to step down and will be replaced by Serge Kasongo from southern Belgian band ACKROS. None of our upcoming shows will be cancelled and the recordings of the split CD with FUCK THE FACTS will also go ahead as planned.

"We'd like to thank Boris for all the good times, fun tours and great albums we've recorded together. It will definitely feel weird not having his bald ass around, but the show must go on! Serge blew us away right from the start and we are sure that he will take the band to new heights. We can't wait to share the stage with this madman and release our new music to the masses. Be sure to come out and catch this lineup live in action at the end of this month."

Here is Boris' statement on the matter:

"After four of the coolest and craziest years of my life, I've decided to quit my activities in LENG TCH'E. A difficult decision considering the fact that I really loved the shows/touring and hanging out with these guys. However, I came to a point in my life where other things start to matter. I don't have the energy and commitment anymore that I used to have, so the time has come to part ways with LENG TCH'E. For me it feels like ending a long term relationship and I think it will feel really strange knowing they will go on without me. Nevertheless, I know this is a well considered decision and wish them all the best in the future. LENG TCH'E has made me who I am today. Thanks for that!"

LENG TCH'E recently spent time in the studio recording four brand new songs for a split 7"/mini-CD release with FUCK THE FACTS. The split album will be released by Power It Up Records in the summer. These songs will be the first recordings with drummer Tony Van den Eynde and will be a taste of what's to come on the band's next full-length, due in 2009.

LENG TCH'E's latest CD on Relapse Records, "Marasmus", was recorded in September 2006 at CCR studios in Belgium and was mixed at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Fredrik Nordstrm. Mastering was done by Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New York.
