LIFE OF AGONY Bassist's SPOILER NYC Releases New Music
July 15, 2009SPOILER NYC, the New York-based punk trio featuring LIFE OF AGONY's Alan Robert on lead vocals and bass, has uploaded two new songs — "Damaged Goods" and "Banned in 38 States" — to the band's MySpace page. The tracks come off the group's forthcoming album, "Banned in 38 States", which was recorded and mixed by Grammy Award-winning producer Ken Lewis (LENNY KRAVITZ, BEASTIE BOYS) for a 2010 release through an as-yet-undisclosed label.
Alan previously stated about the "Damaged Goods" song, "It's about child abuse and trying to cope with that trauma as you get older. The more people I talk to, the more these horrible stories come up. It's really upsetting to know just how common it is and how many people out there have been abused as kids and how it continues to affect them as adults. It's something a lot of people don't ever bounce back from. I read somewhere that about one third of abused children will later abuse their own children, continuing the cycle. Maybe this song, in a very, very small way, can help spread that awareness."
SPOILER NYC's video for the song "Ruined" can be viewed below. The track comes off the band's debut album, "Grease Fire in Hell's Kitchen", which was released in 2007 through SOS Records (USA) and I Scream Records (Europe). The clip was filmed and edited by In The Making Productions on location in Dour, Belgium and Cologne, Germany while SPOILER NYC supported LIFE OF AGONY on tour last summer.
