LIMP BIZKIT DJ Threatens To Kill THE ICARUS LINE

September 23, 2002

LIMP BIZKIT's DJ Lethal allegedly threatened to kill Travis Keller from Buddyhead and Joe Cardamone (a.k.a. Jack Mormon) from THE ICARUS LINE after the duo taunted the short-tempered DJ while hosting an underground hip hop/rock show last week.

The following account was posted at the web site of British rock magazine Rock Sound:

Sunday, September 15th, 2002, Travis Keller from Buddyhead and Joe Cardamone (a.k.a. Jack Mormon) from THE ICARUS LINE were guest hosts of Mass Distortion on Power 105.9. This fact alone made for an exciting night, although no one could have predicted what was in store for the guests or the listeners.

Originally, Keller and Cardamone had agreed to host Mass Distortion, a show well known for underground hip hop and rock, in order to promote an upcoming concert featuring THE ICARUS LINE, DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, and YOUR ENEMIES FRIENDS. While on air, the two fielded calls from fans, gave away tickets, plugged upcoming releases and shot the shit in between songs as they broadcast their very own playlist that was designed exclusively for the show.

Their uncompromised selections, which included the nine-minute rock assault of THE ICARUS LINE's "Getting Bright At Night", THE VELVET UNDERGROUND's "White Light/White Heat", and array of rock that has never been heard before on a Top 40 station before, tortured, baffled, and excited the 1.9 million listeners that tuned in for the historical set. One of those listeners was DJ Lethal, who hosts the show on a regular basis and a member of the sometimes goofy always hot tempered rap/metal band LIMP BIZKIT. Lethal started off the conversation by calling the two guest hosts "haters" and lobbed childish and shallow attacks at the hosts and their musical selection. After asking, "Who the f*%k is Lethal?" Keller and Cardamone fought back with their own slanderous ammo. After being asked if bandmate Fred Durst has learned how to play guitar yet, DJ Lethal proceeded to threaten the safety of the two hosts by saying that he knew where they were and that he was "going to come down there and take care of them".

The conversation came to an abrupt end when Lethal started spurting out obscenities (which went uncensored) and Keller refered to Lethal's previous group HOUSE OF PAIN as KRIS KROSS.
