LINKIN PARK Singer Says He Hardly Gets Recognized
January 26, 2005Launch Radio Networks is reporting that LINKIN PARK may be one of the hottest bands around these days, but despite their success and popularity, the group says they hardly get stopped by fans on the street. Singer Chester Bennington said the only when he's hanging out with vocalist Mike Shinoda do fans recognize him. "People really only know us for our music," he said. "Unless they're like really hardcore fans, then they know a little more about our lives. We're not the kind of band that's always in your face for something that's not music-related. Even me and Mike, I think the only time we really get noticed is if we're together. Like if we're walking down the street together, people are like, 'Oh my God. That's Mike and Chester.' Or if we're in a group we get noticed more often. But you know our fans are really cool, very mellow, and they just kind of leave us alone."
LINKIN PARK recently established an organization called Music for Relief, to aid victims of the tsunamis in Southeast Asia, and made an initial donation of $100,000 to the fund.
