LION'S SHARE Members Write Intro Song For Ice Hockey Team
October 15, 2009LION'S SHARE members Lars Chriss and Sampo Axelsson have, in cooperation with Sidelake Media and Christian Rehn (ANGTORIA),written the official intro song for Swedish elite ice hockey team Timrå Ik (Red Eagles).
"The main riff was based on the song 'Shadows' from LION'S SHARE's 'Two' (1997) album, with an AC/DC and RAMMSTEIN twist since this style works so well in hockey arenas," Chriss says in a statement.
The clip below is shown up on the Jumbotron when the players enter the ice.
LION'S SHARE recently inked a Russian licensing deal with Soyuz Music for the release of the band's critically acclaimed "Dark Hours" album.
"Dark Hours" was released in March via Blistering Records. The follow-up to 2007's "Emotional Coma" was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (OPETH, SYMPHONY X, PARADISE LOST, AMON AMARTH) and features guest appearances by SYMPHONY X guitarist Mike Romeo (guest solo on "Behind The Curtain"),and drummers Conny Pettersson (from Earache Records death metal act ANATA) and Richard Evensand (CHIMAIRA, SOILWORK).
LION'S SHARE's video for the song "Judas Must Die" was shot in Stockholm, Sweden with director Josef Doukkali. The group previously worked with Doukkali on the clip for the track "The Edge Of The Razor", from the "Emotional Coma" album. The band's original decision to work with Doukkali was based in part on the fact that his background was not in music video but in narrative film projects, and that his more cinematic approach would give the clip a unique look and feel.
"Judas Must Die" is available for free download at this location (MP3 file, 3.4 MB).
