LIZZY BORDEN Bassist Denies He has Been Asked To Join HAMMERFALL

Marten Andersson (LIZZY BORDEN, STARWOOD) has shot down reports that he has been asked to replace fill the vacant bassist slot in HAMMERFALL following the departure of Magnus Rosén.

Commented Marten: "I have been getting a bunch of emails these last couple of days asking if I am the new bass player for the Swedish band HAMMERFALL. I know Anders Johansson (the HAMMERFALL drummer) pretty well and have meet the other guys in the band when we played festivals with them in Europe. I don't know who started these rumors, the guys in that band are cool people but it's not true. I have not been approached by the band and I have no plans to move to Sweden but I wish them my best in their search."

On the topic of the new LIZZY BORDEN album, Andersson said, "[It's] coming along great. Ira [Black, guitar] is about to start his ripping leads and Lizzy is in there singing his ass off right now. The CD will be out this summer. You definitely want to pick it up. I would say it's the best LIZZY CD to date."

A four-and-a-half-minute trailer for LIZZY BORDEN's reissue of the band's 1989 original recording of "Master of Disguise", available now on Metal Blade Records, has been posted online at this location.

LIZZY BORDEN's "Master of Disguise" re-release is part of Metal Blade's 25th anniversary CD/DVD reissue series.
