LIZZY BORDEN Performs Two Shows In One Day At Germany's BANG YOUR HEAD!!! Festival
July 1, 2008This past weekend, long-running California metallers LIZZY BORDEN became the first band to ever play two shows in one day at the Bang Your Head!!! festival in Balingen, Germany.
LIZZY BORDEN performed its regularly scheduled set on Saturday (June 28) with a blood-soaked theatrical production on a perfect sunny day in front of an audience of 15 thousand. As the band left the stage drained and bloodstained, they were greeted by Bang Your Head!!! promoter Horst Franz who congratulated them on the amazing response. He also told them that one of the bands had cancelled their show for later that day to which LIZZY BORDEN frontman/namesake replied, "We'll take the slot!" Horst called him a "madman" and said, "You got it!"
Commented Lizzy: "We had two hours to put a new set together. We rehearsed some songs in our trailer that we heard the crowd yelling out at the last show, even though we had never played them before with this lineup. The second show was fast and loose and fun as hell and the crowd was even louder then the first show and sang with me all the way through. It was the tenth Bang Your Head!!! festival anniversary for LIZZY BORDEN and one we will never forget."
