LOSER Dropped By ISLAND RECORDS?

April 12, 2006

According to a posting on the Kings of A&R web site, LOSER — the new band led by former MARILYN MANSON and current ROB ZOMBIE guitarist John 5 — have been dropped by Island Records before even issuing their debut album, "Just Like You". It is not presently clear which label will put out the CD, which was most recently slated for a June 6 release.

In a recent interview with MTV.com, John 5 said about the LOSER debut, "I like to play metal, but sometimes it's like doing the same thing over and over. It's good to have a little bit more variety, like eating different foods. And even if they're surprised, I hope people will like the band and recognize that hey, it's not metal, but these are really good songs."

John 5 and his wife — nude model Aria Giovanni — recently celebrated their first anniversary. The guitarist's next gig with ROB ZOMBIE is scheduled for Thursday, April 13 at the Val Air Ballroom in West Des Moines, Iowa.
