LUPARA Frontman Pays Tribute To DIMEBAG
November 30, 2006LUPARA vocalist Noa Brady recently got a new tattoo as a tribute to late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. A famous Dimebag photo taken by rock-photographer Chad Lee inspired the ink. The tattoo was done by Paul Miller of In Your Face Tattooz in Beaver Dam, WI.
Noa had this to say about immortalizing Dime in his flesh: "Dime was one of my only heroes, so the decision to get the tat was a no-brainer. I looked around for months to find a good picture that represented Dime well and would make a great tattoo. The best pic was also a no-brainer...it was the pic used at Dime's memorial and it was taken by my bro, Chad Lee. What better way to show respect to a fallen hero than to use a pic taken by Dime's good friend, Chad. I went to Paul at In Your Face Tattooz with the pic and he took to it with as much passion as I had to get it done. He did an excellent job, and this will insure that I'll never forget what Dime meant to me and the rest of the world."
Chad Lee has posted the photo of Noa's tattoo on the personal "Diary" page of his web site. You can check out the photo at this location.
LUPARA filmed its first video for the track "No Pity On the Ants" on November 18-19 in the band's hometown of Chicago with director/producer Frankie Nasso of Raging Nation Films. A young protégé music video director of notorious filmmaker Dale "Rage" Resteghini, Frankie's directing credits include MUDVAYNE, HATEBREED, ALL THAT REMAINS, WALLS OF JERICHO, SWORN ENEMY, and BURY YOUR DEAD, among many others. SLIPKNOT guitarist Mick Thomson makes an appearance in the clip as the main actor.
LUPARA's self-titled debut was produced and mixed by Scott Creekmore at Mercenary Digital Studios and mastered by Trevor Sadler (NINE INCH NAILS, SOIL, FLESHGRIND, etc.) at Mastemind Productions. The track "Four Leaves War" can currently be heard on the band's MySpace page.
