M.ILL.ION Parts Ways With Guitarist, Announces Replacement

October 28, 2008

Swedish melodic rockers M.ILL.ION have parted ways with guitarist Jonas Hermansson. "We thank Jonas for many good memories and great guitar playing, but we have different agendas these days and it's simply time to move on," the band writes in a statement. "We wish him all the best; Jonas will always be a brother."

Replacing Hermansson in M.ILL.ION's current lineup is Staffan Ă–sterlind from former IRON MAIDEN singer Paul Di'Anno's band. Staffan also is "Jimmy Page" in Scandinavia's finest LED ZEPPELIN tribute band.

The band says: "We've been auditioning aspiring recommendations the last couple of weeks and Staffan really stood out as a very competent, great vibe guitarist with rock 'n roll charisma. The energy level immediately got high and above all, we had fun! He's toured the world and played the big stages so he knows what it's all about. Staffan will join for the upcoming tourdates and then we'll take it from there. We're all really looking forward to rocking together!"

M.ILL.ION's sixth studio album, "Thrill Of The Chase", was released in May via Metal Heaven. The CD was recorded between November 2007 and January 2008. Mixing was done in February at the world-class Bohus Studio (ABBA, STATUS QUO) in Sweden by Tobias Lindell and B.J Laneby.
