MÖTLEY CRÜE Singer Attends ESPY CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC
July 12, 2006According to Multichannel.com, MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil was one of the celebrity attendees at the 2006 ESPY Celebrity Golf Classic, which was held Tuesday (July 11) at Lost Canyons Golf Club in Simi Valley, California. The event raised a record $1.1 million in net proceeds for The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Other celebrities in attendance included National Basketball Association Hall of Famer Julius "Dr. J" Erving; National Football League Hall of Famer and ESPN commentator Joe Theismann; actor Haley Joel Osmont; 13-year-old golfing phenom Dakoda Dowd; Olympic skier Bode Miller; and "Hercules" TV-series star Kevin Sorbo.
ESPN Classic will air the 2006 ESPY Celebrity Golf Classic August 13 at 11 a.m. (EST).
The V Foundation was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, former North Carolina State basketball coach and ESPN commentator.
As previously reported, Neil will be a guest on tonight's (July 12) episode of "Criss Angel Mindfreak", airing at 10:00 p.m. on the A&E network. The episode, dubbed "Celebrity Minds", will feature illusionist/escapologist/stunt performer Criss Angel using "hypnosis techniques to drop entire crowds of people to the ground before putting an entire restaurant's patrons and staff under his control," according to an official show description. "His ability to read the minds of some well-known surprise celebrity guests — including Ice Cube, Vince Neil, Mark McGrath and Robin Leach — will equally astound."
