MÖTLEY CRÜE Singer: I've Been Sitting On My Boat In The Bahamas Thinking About The Future

January 18, 2012

Erik Ofgang of NewsTimes.com recently conducted an interview with MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

NewsTimes.com: What's the best part of your job?

Vince: It's fun. This is something I've been doing all my life and actually now to get paid for it, it's great. I get to travel. Obviously, it gets a little tiring at times, but it's all part of the job. Just being on stage is the best part — interacting with the crowd every night.

NewsTimes.com: Any advice for musicians starting out in the music biz?

Vince: Yeah, don't get in the business (laughs). It's tough, there's so many different outlets for music now. Thirty years ago you had MTV; everybody watched MTV and everybody saw your video. There was one place to go, now there's thousands of places to go. It's a lot tougher. There's more eyes out there; it's just harder to get everybody to look at you at the same time.

NewsTimes.com: I've heard that you don't plan on being in MÖTLEY CRÜE forever?

Vince: Eventually it's time to call it quits. I've been sitting on my boat in the Bahamas for the last month and just thinking about the future. There's a lot of really cool things coming up in my mind, and it might be the time to just kind of bow out. But I haven't made a decision a hundred percent yet. It's just a thought that's been going through my head.
