MACHIAVELLIAN Signs With YEAR OF THE SUN RECORDS
February 21, 2008Skelmersdale England's death-thrash outfit MACHIAVELLIAN has signed with Year of the Sun Records for the release of its upcoming debut four-song EP, "The Impossibility of Death in the Minds of the Living". The CD will be released on April 29th, 2008. MACHIAVELLIAN marks the first international signing by the Canadian label.
"We couldn't be more proud to be part of the Year of the Sun roster," says MACHIAVELLIAN bassist Ant Hurlock. "For a band from a small town that no one had ever heard of we have come a long way. It's amazing to see that our hard work is finally being recognized and we can only hope we continue to receive recognition both from the EP and from our upcoming live shows. I can't wait to see what people think of the EP and what people make of us as a band."
Recorded at Foel Studios in Wales with producer Chris Fielding (PRIMORDIAL, NAPALM DEATH, RAGING SPEEDHORN),"The Impossibility of Death in the Minds of the Living" was mastered by Russ Russell (NAPALM DEATH, DIMMU BORGIR). The group's eclectic sound fuses together all the sub-genres of metal, death and thrash with hints of doom and stoner rock. The upcoming EP prompted Zero Tolerance magazine to hail the band as "one of the most promising UK bands on the scene today."
The band's explosive live show has earned them high-profile opening slots for JOB FOR A COWBOY, MISERY INDEX, DRY KILL LOGIC, SIKTH, SKINLAB and BRING ME THE HORIZON.
"MACHIAVELLIAN really points to the future of our label," stated label president Chris Benn. "It's not that we're just excited to branch out into the European market, but we're also excited to have been able to find such a promising band. We look forward to working with MACHIAVELLIAN for a number of years to come and we feel that North American metal fans will find the same kind of appreciation of their brand of metal."
