MACHINA Seeking Label Home
November 9, 2009MACHINA, the Little Rock, Arkansas-based band featuring former EVANESCENCE and current WE ARE THE FALLEN members John LeCompt and Rocky Gray, has completed work on its its debut album, "To Live And Die In The Garden Of Eden", for a tentative early 2010 release via an as-yet-undetermined record label. The CD was produced and mixed by Toby Wright (METALLICA, SLAYER, ALICE IN CHAINS, SOULFLY, FEAR FACTORY) and was mastered by Louis Marcusson. According to a press release, "This record seems to eminate every ounce of blood that was put into it, featuring such single contenders as 'This Goodbye', 'Trust', 'For Fame' and 'Belladonna', as well as the pulsing BLACK SABBATH-meets-ALICE IN CHAINS tracks such as 'The Verdict', 'Curse', 'Crown' and 'Same Song'. This particular body of work as an introduction of MACHINA to the world will prove itself a genuine cornerstone for the industry and other bands that love what they do and are willing to fight for it."
Currently unsigned, MACHINA is working out details of a South American tour in early 2010, as well as direct support for WE ARE THE FALLEN sometime next year.
In early 2008, MACHINA collaborated with Mick Mars of MÖTLEY CRÜE on a song entitled "Save You". The sessions took place between February 8 and February 10, 2008 (Grammy weekend) in Los Angeles at Mick Mars' personal studio. The track will feature guitar work by Mars and LeCompt, vocals by Phil Taylor, drums by Rocky Gray and bass by Thad Ables.
MACHINA previously released a self-titled, six-song EP, which has received play on XM Satellite Radio and rock stations nationwide by virtue of the buzz the band has generated.
LeCompt formed MACHINA with former FUTURE LEADERS OF THE WORLD vocalist Phil Taylor, and the two are the group's songwriters as well. The lineup also includes bassist Thad Ables and drummer Rocky Gray. Longtime friends, John and Rocky have also played together in the groups KILL SYSTEM, SOUL EMBRACED and MOURNINGSIDE.
