MACHINE HEAD: Pro-Shot Footage Of 'Aesthetics Of Hate' Live At ROCK AM RING Available
June 4, 2007A video clip of MACHINE HEAD performing the song "Aesthetics of Hate" live at the Rock am Ring festival in Nürburgring, Germany on Saturday, June 2 has been posted at YouTube. The track was inspired by an article called "Aesthetics of Hate: R.I.P. Dimebag Abbott, & Good Riddance". The article, written by William Grim for the conservative web site the Iconoclast, basically kicked fans of the slain PANTERA guitarist while they were down, just days after he was killed onstage. The song is a "fuck you" to Grim, from MACHINE HEAD mainman Robert Flynn.
"Aesthetics of Hate" comes off MACHINE HEAD's latest album, "The Blackening", which came out in late March via Roadrunner Records. The CD was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA, with MACHINE HEAD frontman Robert Flynn returning to the producer's chair, and Mark Keaton once again handling engineering duties. Longtime MACHINE HEAD collaborator Colin Richardson (CANNIBAL CORPSE, TRIVIUM, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE) mixed the record in London.
