MALIGNO Mixing New Album
November 18, 2010Mexican doom rockers MALIGNO are currently mixing their third album, tentatively titled "TFD", in Los Angeles, California with American producer/engineer Billy Anderson (MELVINS, NEUROSIS, CATHEDRAL, SLEEP). The CD was recorded by MALIGNO at La Nave studios in Monterrey, Mexico and features collaborations with the acclaimed Mexican guitar duo RODRIGO Y GABRIELA and TESTAMENT guitar legend Alex Skolnick. The album will be mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (CONVERGE, HATEBREED, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN) in New Windsor, New York. A March 2011 release is expected.
Commented the band: "We are very happy to be working with Billy on this new project and we know that he will deliver the heaviest of mixes and bring a new dimension in our sound."
MALIGNO released its second album, "Universevil", on September 1, 2008 in Mexico via Iguana and Asenath Records. The CD was named one of the top ten albums of 2008 by Latin artist by Rolling Stone magazine Mexico, and it was honored in the "Best Metal Album" category at the Indie-O awards, which recognizes the best of independent music in Mexico.
MALIGNO supported METALLICA and MASTODON on the Mexican leg of their 2010 "Death Magnetic" world tour.
