MANNHAI On Hiatus

February 5, 2009

MANNHAI, the Finnish group whose lineup includes singer Pasi Koskinen (ex-AMORPHIS, AJATTARA),has issued the following update:

"Maybe it's time to tell you what is going on in the MANNHAI camp... We've been quite passive for a long time, and right now it seems that we will remain that way for some time. How long this will be is impossible to say, but the fact that we haven't composed new music together as a band since 2007, might give a picture of the current situation.

"We've done four albums in nine years, which would be enough for an average band career. Also, we've played gigs in various kinds of circumstances — and always enjoyed it. But now it's time to jump off the wagon for a while and take a look at what we've done from another perspective. Whenever it's time to activate again, we'll let people know about it."

MANNHAI's latest CD, "Hellroad Caravan", was released in continental Europe in June 2006 via Dockyard 1. The CD, which was issued in Finland on February 15, 2006, was recorded at Jive Studios in Helsinki and was described by the band as "heavier and more guitar-driven" than the group's previous album, 2004's "The Exploder".
