MANTAS To Record New Album; 'Zero Tolerance' Video Available Online
July 7, 2005MANTAS, the new band featuring former VENOM guitarist Mantas, are gearing up to record their second album through Demolition Records. This will be the follow-up to the group's acclaimed debut, "Zero Tolerance".
The initial plan was for the group to release a six-track EP, but "after an influx of new songs and ideas we have decided a new album should go ahead," the band write on their web site. "You can expect a release date to be set soon though an November/December date has been pencilled in."
After a huge delay, MANTAS' video for "Zero Tolerance" has now been re-shot and edited. "You can video stream or download the video [at this location]," the group write on their web site. "Be patient though as it's around 75MBs.
"Delays occurred due to past band members wanting their mugs out of the video. This is cool, but it left us with nothing to edit, and in the process new band members Drew and Marthus had joined the ranks so the whole thing was shot again. We apologise for the delay……shit happens."
Meanwhile, former MANTAS bassist Tony Dolan's (ATOMKRAFT, ex-VENOM) web site has been updated with the following update regarding the "Zero Tolerance" clip: "Word is that we may also be viewing, very soon, the original 'Zero Tolerance' MANTAS 30-second clip promo video, featuring Tony and Cherisse Osei (now with chart band THE FADERS).
"MANTAS has claimed on their official site that the hold up in the release of the video was because Tony and Cherisse didn't want their faces on there. However, as I am sure all of you are aware, it was the record company and their worrying label manager and owner that decided not to allow the release of the whole video unless Tony and Cherisse were edited out (of course, an impossible task),so now they have re-shot and are ready to release with the new members. But to prove Tony and Cherisse weren't the problem, we will be seeing the promo in its full 30-second entirety very soon. Stay glued!!"
