MARILYN MANSON Selects Former L.A. WEEKLY Editor To Write His Official Biography
February 28, 2011Marilyn Manson has selected journalist Erin Broadley, a former editor for L.A. Weekly, to write his first authorized biography. The two were introduced in 2010 following several controversial articles involving Manson that Broadley had written for L.A. Weekly. This biography will be the first book for Broadley.
Marilyn Manson's 1998 autobiography, "The Long Hard Road Out of Hell", was a New York Times bestseller.
Manson had this to say regarding the new book: "I asked Erin Broadley to write an objective account of my life because I have great respect for her. I think she has the balls to be the next Lee Miller."
(Lee Miller was a Surrealist-era journalist, famous for her work with Man Ray and breaking into Hitler's apartment while working for Vogue during WWII.)
Marilyn Manson is currently in the studio with his bandmates finishing his eighth studio album, set for release later in the year through Cooking Vinyl Records.
Broadley has worked in entertainment media and as a journalist since 2001. Her work has been published in the L.A. Weekly, Los Angeles Times, Filter magazine, SOMA and SuicideGirls.com.
