MARILYN MANSON To Bring Art Exhibit To Fort Myers This Weekend

March 27, 2007

According to News-Press.com, goth-rocker Marilyn Manson is coming to Fort Myers, Florida for what organizers call his first-ever U.S. art exhibit outside of his own Los Angeles gallery.

Manson will attend a private reception Saturday night (March 31) at Space 39 art gallery in downtown Fort Myers.

The reception is expected to attract visitors from as far away as Argentina — and perhaps even a few of Manson's famous friends.

An exhibit of Manson's moody, grotesque watercolors opens to the public Monday and continues through April 17.

"The reality is that these are absolutely world-class watercolors," said gallery owner Terry Tincher. "They're edgy and contemporary."

About five months ago, Space 39 started showing a few works by the musician, known for concert antics such as ripping up a Book of Mormon onstage and adopting the persona of "The Antichrist Superstar".

Customers had asked the gallery to display some Manson artwork, Tincher said, and when the gallery management contacted Manson, they found him willing.
