MARK SLAUGHTER Guests On 'Do You Know Jack?' Radio Show (Audio)
May 18, 2014Jack Antonio conducted an interview with singer/guitarist Mark Slaughter (SLAUGHTER, VINNIE VINCENT INVASION) on the May 11 episode of "Do You Know Jack?" radio show on CJIM Montreal. You can now listen to the chat using the Mixcloud player below.
Mark Slaughter released a new solo single, "Never Givin Up", digitally on March 18 via Thunder Spirit Records.
An audio sample of the track can be streamed at Amazon.com.
"Never Givin Up" captures the rock n' roll anthems of yesterday with a military message that salutes all who have faced adversity.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the single will be donated to the Red Circle Foundation, a non-profit organization providing immediate gap funding assistance to the families of United States Special Operations Forces.
"Never Givin Up" features Mark Slaughter on all instruments except drums by Mark Goodin. Legendary producer Michael Wagener (METALLICA, MEGADETH, ALICE COOPER, DOKKEN, SKID ROW) mixed and mastered the single.
SLAUGHTER's best-selling release date is the group's 1990 debut album, "Stick It To Ya", which spawned several hit singles, including "Up All Night" and the power ballad "Fly To The Angels". The album reached double platinum status in the United States.
The band's last studio CD, "Back to Reality", came out in 1999.
"It's just been one of those things," Mark recently told SOFREP Radio. "We [SLAUGHTER] stopped making records around 1999 — that was our last record. We've been doing shows, we just tour every summer and that's kinda what we focused on. I've been doing music for television for a while, produced a band or two, and really got into other aspects of the business. Lately, I just felt the need to start being creative again, so I started writing this song and other songs, and lo and behold, 'Never Givin Up' was written for the sake of our military.
"Every night that I've done 'Fly To The Angels', which is our biggest SLAUGHTER hit, I would always send that out to the troops. For, number one, defending our country and giving up their time and their lives and everything else for it. I think more people should be thankful."
